From time to time, this blog will change. Check back often for new and interesting tidbits about our youth group, Generation Xtreme.

Playing for the first time on Vision Sunday, March 16th in the Main Auditorium is our BRAND NEW music video - Your Love. This has turned into a great team effort between our adult leaders and our youth. We've had a lot of fun and minimal feuding while writing, playing, acting and producing this video! A huge "thank you" to the team who brought this together, especially Chad, Roxanne & Mari. We couldn't do it without you.

We went to Acquire The Fire in Minneapolis last weekend! Superchick and Stellar Kart were awesome (though the concert wasn't nearly long enough). Thankfully, we had a bunch of adult chaperones....so I could get some sleep on Friday. :) Doug did an amazing performance of a male model on the bus for us. The whole question of whether we were all laughing with him or at him is still up in the air though. Mr. & Mrs. Grumpy (Doug & I) showed up the bus the last hour or so Saturday night. (Sorry about that by the way) I'm not quite sure how the ride home took four hours, but it did. All in all it was a great weekend. Ron Luce shared on the love of the Father Friday night, how we were created to receive God's love and without it we are like a fish out of water flopping around desperate for love and acceptance. Several of our youth rededicated their lives to Christ, making a commitment to stay in the water with God's love. That right there is worth the loss of sleep, motion sickness from the bus, getting lost several times, and all the other little inconveniences of taking a group of 28 to the cities for the weekend! We thank God for what He has done and what he will do in our lives and in the lives of our youth.

As an alternative to Halloween, we had a 70's - 80's costume party in Generation Xtreme. Flat hair, big hair, we were all there.
(Yes, this is me.)
I'm not sure if my hair was as big in the 80's but it was fun dressing up! We had Karate Kid, part of the A-Team, a couple sporting mullets and more. We love God and have a lot of fun in Youth Group. Come check it out for yourself on Wednesday nights at 7 PM.

Train wreck, snakes, and volleyball....oh yeah, and a youth service. Last night was our "fun night" with a shortened service and then time to hang out. Doug allowed Davie to bring his pet snake. Of course the boys thought it would be funny to shove that slimy thing in my face. Have you ever been licked by a snake? Uggghhh. It will give you the heebies for days. And, if you're scratching your head over what train wreck means, you'll just have to ask one of our youth.:)
Next week we'll be back to small groups, and the snake will stay home. Keep us in your prayers as our youth study "Search for Significance".

Last night we started a new service schedule incorporating small group discussions into the evening. The kids that were in Mark & Brooke's small group got home-made cookies! Mmmm... Lucky them.
We will spend the next few months on "A Search For Significance".
The goals:
1. Engage our youth and adults in heart-to-heart discussions leading us all in a deeper revelation of God's love.
2. Build strong relationships between our youth and adult leaders.
3. To see our adults grow in leadership skills and dependency on God!
Part of the discussion last night: What does Significance Mean? Significance means fully loving and accepting yourself because you are completely loved and accepted by God. We're really excited about seeing God move in the hearts of our youth this school year.
